Why is there no talk about Richard Rodriguez?

OK, I get that he is 26 years old and a right handed reliever that has never been to the majors. But does he have the talent to pitch in the majors?

His stats at Norfolk are:

6-1, 2.19 ERA, 39 G, 61.2 IP, 52 H, 1.20 WHIP, 62 SO.

So less hits than innings pitched. A strikeout an inning. His control must be pretty good.

But this guy never gets talked about. Never. Why?

What is there to say? He might contribute as a big-league middle reliever at some point. He also might not. Not really a lot to discuss.

I would like to know a lot more about him like:

1) What pitches does he throw?

2) How good are each of his pitches?

3) Is he a power or finesse pitcher?

4) Will the O's put him on the 40 man roster this off season?

5) Is he better ro worst then some of the minor league pitchers that are currently on the 40 man roster?

Those are a few things to talk about.

The answers to 2-5 are pretty apparent by the way the Orioles and us never talk about him.

Maybe.

Or maybe the reason that the O's don't talk about Rodriguez is that they have a strong pen and most of their focus has been on either adding starters or left-handed pitchers.

I really don't know but I would like to know more about Richard Rodriguez.

He's going to have to be added to the 40 man to be protected from the rule 5 draft. Our bullpen has been so good that you don't hear too much about the righties in AAA. Beato, Drake and R.Rodriguez could all be in MLB bullpens this year.
